Parish Council Elections 2025

On May 1st there will be an election to decide who will be your Parish Councillors for the next 4 years. In this section you will find information on the election as well as information on how to apply to become a Parish Councillor.

On 1st May 2025, an election will be held to choose your Parish Councillors for the next four years. This is a crucial election as it will shape the future development of Kings Cliffe. By voting or standing for election as a Councillor, you can have a direct influence on the decisions that will guide our village’s growth.

Anyone who meets the following criteria can become a Parish Councillor.

  1. Age: You must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Citizenship: You must be a British citizen, an Irish citizen, a Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of a European Union member state.
  3. Residency: You must have lived in the parish, or within 3 miles of its boundary, for at least 12 months prior to standing for election, or have had your principal place of work in the parish during that period.
  4. Disqualifications: You cannot stand for election if you are an undischarged bankrupt, if you have been convicted of a criminal offence and sentenced to a prison term of at least one year, or if you are employed by the council you wish to stand for.
